Dr. Kirsty Husby
Dr. Husby graduated from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. She then went on to complete a one year rotating equine internship at the University of Missouri followed by an additional year at MIzzou as a clinical fellow where she completed a research project on a novel implant for the equine stifle in conditions of cartilage degradation.
In 2013, Dr. Husby moved to Oregon where she completed a 3 year surgery residency at Oregon State University as well as a Master of Science in Veterinary Science. She completed her board certification through the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, and remained at OSU as a faculty surgeon in the Large Animal Emergency department until 2020. She briefly moved to Southern California to work as a surgeon at San Luis Rey Equine Hospital, before returning to her adopted home of Oregon in 2021.
In addition to clinical duties, Dr. Husby is working on her Masters of Business Administration in Organizational Leadership through Oregon State University, and devotes much time to giving back by being actively involved in undergraduate and veterinary mentorship programs, developing resident wellbeing guidelines, and speaking about the importance of leadership to veterinary students.
